V nekonečném boji za záchranu free-market politiky na celém světě hraje jistě velmi významnou roli výsledek nacházejících prezidentských voleb v USA.
V toto souvislosti není jistě bez zajímavostí, že republikánský kandidát Mitt Romney v pátek 27.4.2012 při svém projevu na Otterbein University v Ohio uvedl, že Obama chce transformovat americkou ekonomiku do přísně regulovaného EU modelu. Romney naproti tomu slíbil, že obnoví v USA principy free-market ekonomické svobody.

Greece could become another Lehman Brothers. An Armageddon for the European financial system. This would not be healthy for the Euro, the health of the European economy, the stability of the European banks or the share markets in European capitals.The crux of the matter falls on the European banks which are carrying sovereign Greek paper at par– and its worth a fraction of par.
